The European Space Agency (ESA) has signed a Letter of Intent with GEOSAT, marking an important milestone in advancing Europe’s space commercialisation landscape. Through ESA’s Partnership Initiative for Commercialisation (EPIC), this collaboration aims to empower start-ups, scale-ups, and entrepreneurs to harness the transformative potential of satellite imagery and geospatial intelligence for economic growth and societal benefit.

Supporting Europe’s New Space Economy

The collaboration between ESA and GEOSAT will focus on integrating advanced EO capabilities into the support services offered to EPIC beneficiaries, including:

  • Access to GEOSAT’s satellite data to help entrepreneurs test, validate, and enhance their applications and services.
  • Technical mentorship and expertise to guide start-ups in developing innovative solutions powered by geospatial intelligence.
  • Joint outreach and networking activities to expand market opportunities and raise awareness of the societal value of EO technologies.

“Joining forces with GEOSAT underscores EPIC’s commitment to strengthening Europe’s competitiveness in the global space economy,” said Cornelis Eldering, Head of the Entrepreneurship & Business Incubation Office at ESA. “By combining ESA’s entrepreneurial community with GEOSAT’s cutting-edge data services, we will help a new generation of companies unlock the power of Earth Observation to address global challenges, from climate resilience to food security.”.

Driving Sustainable Impact

Through this collaboration, GEOSAT will contribute to ESA’s ambition to make space technologies accessible to businesses beyond the traditional space sector, fostering innovative solutions aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
