The district administration of Hoshiarpur, Punjab, has entered into a new collaboration with the Bengaluru-based think tank Centre for Study of Science, Technology and Policy (CSTEP) to advance its clean energy ambitions. Under the memorandum of understanding, CSTEP will develop a detailed climate action plan for Hoshiarpur. The plan includes conducting a digital survey of rooftops and preparing a solar rooftop mapping exercise that estimates solar energy potential across buildings in the district.
