PR: Trimble’s Inpho 5.7 Software Features New Capabilities  to Reduce Processing Time and Improve Visualization

trimbleSUNNYVALE, Calif., May 22, 2014—Trimble (NASDAQ: TRMB) announced today enhancements to its Inpho® 5.7 software suite to address the needs of geospatial professionals engaged in the production of digital photogrammetry and LIDAR deliverables. The new software version offers faster automatic computation and improved visualization that combine to significantly reduce project time and costs.

Photogrammetrists can now reduce the time to produce deliverables by up to 75 percent through the use of expanded core processing and refinements to algorithms used to generate point clouds. In addition, the Inpho 5.7 software includes a new 3D point cloud viewer that improves visualization, navigation and editing of project data. Significant volumes of 3D data are now easily managed at the user’s fingertips.

“The efficient generation of high quality, accurate deliverables is fundamental to our customers within the photogrammetry profession,” said Alain Samaha, business area director of GIS and Software for Trimble’s Geospatial Division. “The improvements in Inpho 5.7 address the needs to streamline our customers’ workflows and increase their efficiency, allowing them to reduce costs and better serve their clients.”

Inpho software is designed to precisely transform aerial images into consistent and accurate point clouds and surface models, orthophoto mosaics and digitized 3D features using state-of-the-art photogrammetry techniques. The software suite’s modules can be used as a complete system or as individual components, which integrate easily into a variety of photogrammetric production workflows. With thousands of implementations, Inpho software is used globally to standardize and enhance image data for a variety of applications including mapping, forestry, agriculture, mining, utility and energy, urban development, defense, archaeology, environmental monitoring and disaster response.

Availability

The Inpho 5.7 software suite is available now through Trimble’s Inpho Distribution Channel. Customers with a current maintenance contract for the relevant Inpho software modules will receive the upgrade. For more information, visit:  www.trimble.com/imaging/inpho.
