As recently reported by ZAWYA (Thomson Reuters), South Korea and Tunisia has inked a memorandum of technical co-operation in the fields of geospatial data and land management in the event of “Smart Geospatial Expo 2016”, held from August 31 to September 2 in the Korean capital.
According to a statement released Tuesday (September 06, 2016) by the Ministry, the Memorandum stipulates strengthening co-operation between the two countries in the fields of geospatial data infrastructure, digitisation in land management and exchange of experiences and expertise for geospatial data.
Leading the Tunisian delegation to the exhibition, Minister of Public Works Mohamed Salah Arfaoui met Mr. Choi Hong-Suk, representative of Korean bank “Eximbank”.
He, on the occasion, stressed the need to boost bilateral economic relations in the fields of infrastructure and urban planning.
The representative of “Eximbank” has, for his part, expressed his country’s willingness to finance the third phase of this project (intelligent digital system for the management of land data), through a loan granted by the Korea Economic Development Co-operation Fund, valued at $ 37 million.
